The San Discovery (owned by Sanford Ltd) bottom trawls on the Puysegur Bank (an undersea bank) off the south coast of New Zealand’s South Island.

Puysegur Bank is a fragile and ecologically diverse area. Sea mounts such as this are being prioritised by conservation groups as the areas in most need of protection from bottom trawling.
