Resource - Greenpeace asset

Approximately a 4 to 5 ton catch of Red Fish from the Eastern Princess II. The Eastern Princess II is bottom trawling within EEZ (Canadian 200 Mile zone) for Red Fish (Sebastes Marinus) at approx. depths of 350 meters.Greenpeace has been documenting and protesting the high seas bottom trawl fleets in the Northwest Atlantic. Greenpeace is calling on governments to put in place a UN moratorium on high seas bottom trawling because it is an unsustainable fishing technique that has destructive impacts on the marine ecosystems and poses serious threats to deep sea fish species.
